Hear the line

Two calls a practice actually takes.

The first is the request taken for your team to confirm. The second is the call Belline refuses or hands over — which is the one you are really deciding about.

Ringing

Dubai, specifically

What a practice in Dubai is actually answering.

Dubai is a city where the working day and the trading day are different things.

The appointment everybody wants is after six

Dubai's offices empty in the late afternoon and the appointment a working patient can actually keep is the one after that. So an evening clinic is full and the phone is loudest in the same two hours, with every room occupied and the desk halfway between them. Those calls are not complicated — a first session, a follow-up, a change to next week — and they are lost to the one hour of the day when nobody can reach the handset. Belline answers them, writes down who and when, and leaves your team to place them.

Insurance is the first question a Dubai caller asks

Cover is part of everyday life here and the patient on the phone knows the name of their plan before they know what they want booked. Do you take it, will you bill direct, is there a co-payment, do I need approval first. Belline reads back the arrangements you have written down and stops exactly where your list stops: whether one policy covers one visit is taken as a message with the patient's number, because a wrong yes on that is money somebody was not expecting to spend.

The address is a floor in a tower

Dubai practices sit in towers, podiums and clinic buildings with several entrances, and a patient who is late is a patient in the wrong lobby. Which building, which floor, where to park, whether the lift needs a pass — written down in your clinic already, read back exactly, and worth more to the caller standing outside than anything else said on that call.

Ramadan moves the clinic day, and the questions with it

During Ramadan Dubai's working hours shorten and clinic sessions shift into the evening, so the hours a patient was told last month are not the ones that apply this week. Belline reads the hours you have set, which is why they are worth changing on the day. What it will not do is answer any of the questions that come with a fasting patient — when to take something, whether a test can be done — those are taken as a message with the patient's number and marked for a clinician.

Languages on the line

English is the working language of most Dubai businesses, and Arabic is the official one. On a busy reception line you will also hear Hindi, Urdu, Malayalam and Tagalog, because that is who lives and works here. Belline answers in English.

In an emergency

Belline gives the instruction you set for the UAE: 998 for an ambulance, or the nearest emergency department. It takes no appointment request at that moment, because an appointment would be the wrong answer.

Your own number

Keep the Dubai number on your door and your listings. You forward the calls nobody answers; nothing about how customers reach you changes.

What comes down the line

Every call a practice gets, and what happens to it.

For a clinic, Belline takes appointment requests only, and your team confirms every one. It does not book a clinic appointment itself yet.

Appointment requests

The patient's name and number, the clinician or the service they are asking for, whether they have been before, and when they could come. For a clinic, Belline takes appointment requests only, and your team confirms every one. It does not book a clinic appointment itself yet.

Insurance, referrals and payment

Read back from the list you have written — which arrangements you hold, whether you bill direct, what a self-paying consultation costs. Whether one person's policy covers one visit is not on that list and is taken as a message with their number.

Anything clinical at all

Symptoms, results, medication, whether an appointment can wait. Belline says plainly that it cannot help with that and asks for no more. What the patient said is in the call's transcript for your team. It takes their number and marks the call for your clinical team, who go through it with them.

Courses, follow-ups and rescheduling

A patient moving one session of a course, or asking for the next in a run, is taken as a message with the appointment they believe they have — so the diary can be rearranged by somebody who can see it.

Practical questions

Hours, parking, which floor, what to bring, how long a first session runs, whether a test needs fasting where you have written that down. Your notes exactly, and a message when the answer is not in them.

Reports, results and letters

Never read out and never summarised. The request is taken with the patient's number and passed to your team, who know what has actually been released and to whom.

Emergencies

Belline stops taking a booking and follows the instruction you set — it puts the caller through to the number you gave it, or reads out the emergency instruction you wrote for your country. No appointment is taken, because an appointment would be the wrong answer at that moment.

Where it stops

The most important thing it does is know what it must not answer.

Belline gives no medical information of any kind. It does not discuss a symptom, a result, a medication or a condition, it does not say whether somebody should be seen or how soon, and it does not triage or judge how urgent a call is — that is a clinician's decision and Belline is reception. Please do not use it for medical details. Anything urgent, and anything a caller calls an emergency, goes to a person immediately: it follows the routing you set, puts the call through to the number you gave it or reads out your own emergency instruction, and takes no appointment request at all.

How it works

Set up from what you already have.

Most of the work is checking what Belline found. You decide when customers reach it.

  1. Give Belline what you already have

Your website, price list or brochure. It reads them and drafts your services, prices, hours and the questions a practice gets asked every day.

  2. Check what it found

Fix anything wrong, fill the gaps, and set the rules it must hold. Nothing goes live until you have read it.

  3. Switch it on

Ring it yourself first. Then forward your line and paste one line of HTML into your website. Customers only reach Belline once you do.

An answering service takes a message. Belline answers the question, takes the details and tells your team what to do next.

What counts as a minute

A minute is time Belline spends on a live call with your caller — on your phone line or through the voice button on your website — from the moment it answers to the moment the call ends, rounded up to the next whole minute. Calls you make from your own test console do not count, and neither do calls cut short by a fault on our side.

What counts as a conversation

A conversation is one customer's thread in your website chat or on WhatsApp in which Belline replies at least once. Everything that customer says in the 24 hours after Belline's first reply is the same conversation. Threads your team answers without Belline do not count.

When an allowance runs out

When an allowance runs out, you choose what happens: move up to the next plan, or stop at the allowance. We tell you at 70%, 90% and 100%. Nothing is ever added to your bill without you choosing it.

7 days free

7 days free: 30 voice or 12 video minutes and 50 text conversations, with your website chat, the voice button on the same page, WhatsApp and your phone line all switched on. No card: nothing is charged unless you choose a plan, and on day 8 without one Belline pauses until you do. Standard onboarding is free.

Customer stories

There is no testimonial here yet.

When a practice in Dubai agrees to be named, its story goes in this space: what it was losing, what it changed, and what its own team says about it. Until then this space stays empty on purpose. We are not going to write a quotation nobody said, or count customers we do not have.

Questions

What operators ask us.

Can it tell a Dubai patient whether we are in their insurance network?

It reads back the list of arrangements you have given it, in your words. What it will not do is confirm that a particular policy covers a particular appointment, or quote an excess — that goes to your team with the patient's number, because that answer is the one people plan their money around.

Does it answer our WhatsApp as well as the phone?

Yes, on a separate WhatsApp number we set up with you, reading the same hours and the same written notes. It does not answer a clinical message on WhatsApp any more than it does on the phone: that thread is passed to your team with the patient's number and nothing said back.

Will it change what it says when we shorten hours for Ramadan?

It reads whatever hours are set, so the day you change them it changes what callers are told. It never guesses at a Ramadan schedule — an unchanged entry means last month's times keep being read out, which is the one thing worth putting in a diary before the month starts.

A caller says they are unwell and asks what to do

It does not answer that. Belline says plainly that it cannot help with it, follows the routing you have set — the number to put them through to, or the emergency instruction you wrote — and takes no appointment. It does not ask how they feel first, because the questions themselves would be an assessment.

Will it answer a question about symptoms?

No. It says it is not able to help with that, takes the patient's number but not the symptoms, and marks it for your clinical team. It does not ask follow-up questions about how they feel, because that would be the beginning of an assessment.

Will it read out a test result?

Never, in any form, even one a patient says they are expecting. It takes the request and passes it to your team, who know what has been released and who is allowed to hear it.
