Belline in Dubai

AI receptionist for plumbers, electricians and AC technicians in Dubai

In a Dubai summer a cooling failure stops being a repair job within a couple of hours, and the person ringing is often a tenant or a housemaid who cannot approve the cost. Belline answers, takes the fault, the address and who signs off the work, and diagnoses nothing.

Two calls a trades business actually takes.

The first is the request taken for your team to confirm. The second is the call Belline refuses or hands over — which is the one you are really deciding about.

Ringing

Dubai, specifically

What a trades business in Dubai is actually answering.

Dubai is a city where the working day and the trading day are different things.

Summer makes every cooling call urgent at once

From about June to September a Dubai apartment without working air-conditioning becomes unlivable in hours rather than days, and the calls arrive in that state: not asking for an appointment, asking for somebody now. The same weeks are the ones in which every diary in the trade is already full. Belline answers each of those calls, records how bad it is in the caller's own words, and leaves your team to decide the order rather than promising anybody a time.

In a tower, the fault may not belong to the flat

A great many Dubai towers are cooled from a central plant rather than by a unit on each balcony, so what a resident calls an air-conditioning fault can belong to the building rather than to anything inside the apartment. That is a judgement for a technician, and a reception line that guessed at it would send a van for nothing. Belline asks whether it is a tower or a villa and what the caller can actually see, writes it down, and leaves the conclusion to somebody who does this for a living.

The person ringing is often not the person paying

In Dubai the call about a leak or a dead socket comes from whoever is in the property: a tenant, a housemaid, a building watchman, sometimes a letting agent. They can describe the fault precisely and they cannot approve a bill. Belline captures who is calling, in what capacity, and who should be spoken to about cost — which is the single detail that decides whether the engineer can start when he gets there, or stands in a corridor making phone calls.

Getting in is most of the job

An address here is a tower, a community and a unit number, with a security desk in between and parking that may not exist. Dubai jobs are lost to access as often as to price. Belline takes the building, the apartment or the villa number, the community, and whether anybody needs to be registered at the gate, reading back the access questions you have told it to ask so that the van arrives with the answers already written down.

Languages on the line

English is the working language of most Dubai businesses, and Arabic is the official one. On a busy reception line you will also hear Hindi, Urdu, Malayalam and Tagalog, because that is who lives and works here. Belline answers in English.

In an emergency

Belline gives the instruction you set for the UAE: 998 for an ambulance, or the nearest emergency department. It takes no appointment request at that moment, because an appointment would be the wrong answer.

Your own number

Keep the Dubai number on your door and your listings. You forward the calls nobody answers; nothing about how customers reach you changes.

What comes down the line

Every call a trades business gets, and what happens to it.

With your calendar connected, Belline checks it and books the time straight in, on the phone, in chat, on WhatsApp and on video. Without one, it takes the request and your team confirms it.

Call-outs and repairs

What has gone wrong, where, how long it has been doing it, and when somebody could be let in. Belline takes all of it and your team decides who goes. It never says an engineer will be there by a time.

Who is calling, and who approves the work

Owner, tenant, landlord, building manager or somebody ringing on behalf of the household — captured on every call, along with the number to go back to about cost. It is the detail that decides whether a job can start when the van arrives.

Prices

The call-out or inspection fee you have written down, read back exactly, and whether it comes off the bill if the work goes ahead where you have said so. The repair itself is not priced, because nobody has seen it.

Emergencies and anything that sounds dangerous

Water coming through a ceiling, a burning smell, sparking, no power at all. Belline stops treating it as a booking, gives the instruction you have set for calls like that, takes the address and the number and marks it urgent — or puts the caller through where your plan includes live transfer and you have given it a number.

Servicing and maintenance contracts

A caller asking about a service visit or a contract hears what you have written about it, and a caller who says they are already on one is captured as that. Belline does not confirm that a property is covered or that a visit is free.

Jobs already booked and jobs already done

Is somebody still coming, has the part arrived, why is it leaking again. Belline has not looked and does not pretend to have: it takes the address, the job as the caller describes it and a number, for whoever runs the diary.

Where it stops

The most important thing it does is know what it must not answer.

Belline will not diagnose a fault down the phone, price a repair nobody has seen, promise an engineer by a time, say a part is in stock, or tell anybody that something is safe to use, switch on or leave running. Where a call sounds dangerous it gives the instruction you have set and takes no booking at all. It captures the fault, the address and who authorises the work, and your team decides who goes.

A bathroom floor covered in plumbing parts — taps, hoses, pipe sections and wrenches — with someone working at the toilet behind.

How it works

Set up from what you already have.

Most of the work is checking what Belline found. You decide when customers reach it.

  1. Give Belline what you already have

Your website, price list or brochure. It reads them and drafts your services, prices, hours and the questions a trades business gets asked every day.

  2. Check what it found

Fix anything wrong, fill the gaps, and set the rules it must hold. Nothing goes live until you have read it.

  3. Switch it on

Ring it yourself first. Then forward your line and paste one line of HTML into your website. Customers only reach Belline once you do.

An answering service takes a message. Belline answers the question, takes the details and tells your team what to do next.

What counts as a minute

A minute is time Belline spends on a live call with your caller — on your phone line or through the voice button on your website — from the moment it answers to the moment the call ends, rounded up to the next whole minute. Calls you make from your own test console do not count, and neither do calls cut short by a fault on our side.

What counts as a conversation

A conversation is one customer's thread in your website chat or on WhatsApp in which Belline replies at least once. Everything that customer says in the 24 hours after Belline's first reply is the same conversation. Threads your team answers without Belline do not count.

When an allowance runs out

When an allowance runs out, you choose what happens: move up to the next plan, or stop at the allowance. We tell you at 70%, 90% and 100%. Nothing is ever added to your bill without you choosing it.

Customer stories

There is no testimonial here yet.

When a trades business in Dubai agrees to be named, its story goes in this space: what it was losing, what it changed, and what its own team says about it. Until then this space stays empty on purpose. We are not going to write a quotation nobody said, or count customers we do not have.

Questions

What operators ask us.

An apartment in a tower has no cooling. Can it say whether it is our job?

No, and in Dubai that matters more than most places: plenty of towers are cooled centrally, so the fault may sit with the building. Belline takes what the caller can see, the building and the unit, and your engineer decides — after which somebody who knows is telling the resident, rather than a phone line that guessed.

Will it promise an engineer tonight in July?

No. It takes how urgent the caller says it is and marks the message so your team sees the worst ones first. In the weeks when every cooling call is urgent, a promise Belline cannot keep would cost you the customer twice.

The maid is calling and the owner is abroad. What does it do?

It takes the fault and the address from the person who can actually see the problem, records that they are not the one who can approve the work, and asks for the owner's number. That way the job and the authority to do it arrive on the same message.

Does it answer our WhatsApp as well as the phone?

Yes, on a WhatsApp number of its own, from the same call-out fee and the same notes. A photograph of a dripping ceiling arrives on the thread for your team to look at, and Belline does not tell the sender what it shows or what the repair will cost.

Will it tell somebody what is wrong and what it will cost?

No to both. A fault described down a telephone is a guess, and a guess repeated to a customer becomes the price they think they were quoted. Belline writes down what the caller said in their own words and leaves the diagnosis and the figure to the person who turns up.

Will it quote our call-out fee?

Yes, if you have written it down, in your words — the fee, what it covers and whether it comes off the bill when the work goes ahead. What it will not do is put a figure on the repair that follows.
