Belline in Abu Dhabi
AI receptionist for veterinary clinics in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi owners ring before eight and after six, from the island or from Al Raha, and the drive to you is part of the decision. Belline answers at both ends of the day, takes the request, and makes no judgement about how urgent anything is.

Talk to BelleHear the line
Two calls a veterinary practice actually takes.
The first is the request taken for your team to confirm. The second is the call Belline refuses or hands over — which is the one you are really deciding about.
Abu Dhabi, specifically
What a veterinary practice in Abu Dhabi is actually answering.
Abu Dhabi keeps government hours, and everything else keeps hours around them.
The day has two ends and your desk covers the middle
Abu Dhabi runs on government and corporate hours that start before eight, so an owner who wants to arrange something does it either on the way in or after six on the way home. A practice staffed from nine to six is answering in the hours when the fewest of those calls are made. Belline answers at both ends, takes the animal, the owner and what they are asking for, and leaves your morning starting with a list instead of a row of missed numbers.
The distance is part of what the caller is deciding
Between Al Reem, Khalidiya, Saadiyat, Yas and Al Raha, a trip to the vet with a frightened animal in the back is a real journey rather than a five-minute errand, and the owner on the phone is working out whether to make it. That is a decision for them and for your clinical team, never for a phone line: Belline gives the hours, the address and the parking you have written down, takes the request, and does not tell anybody whether the drive is worth making now or in the morning.
Compounds, staff housing and somebody calling on behalf
A large part of Abu Dhabi's housing is managed, and the caller about an animal is often not its owner — a housemaid, a compound coordinator, a neighbour who found something. They can describe what they can see and they cannot approve treatment or costs. Belline records who is calling and in what capacity, and asks for the owner's number, so your team is not discovering at the counter that nobody present can say yes to anything.
The long summer absence, arranged in advance
Abu Dhabi families leave for long stretches in the summer and the arrangements are made weeks out: boarding dates, a vaccination before a flight, a home visit while the house is empty, paperwork for an animal travelling with them. Those calls are not urgent and they are exactly the ones a busy desk never gets back to. Belline takes each one with the dates and the animal's name, so the ones that need a person get one.
Languages on the line
English and Arabic, with Arabic noticeably more present on a business line here than in Dubai — Abu Dhabi is the capital and a great deal of the work is government and government-adjacent. Hindi, Urdu, Malayalam and Tagalog are common too. Belline answers in English.
In an emergency
Belline gives the instruction you set for the UAE: 998 for an ambulance, or the nearest emergency department. It takes no appointment request at that moment, because an appointment would be the wrong answer.
Your own number
Keep the Abu Dhabi number on your door and your listings. You forward the calls nobody answers; nothing about how customers reach you changes.
What comes down the line
Every call a veterinary practice gets, and what happens to it.
For a clinic, Belline takes appointment requests only, and your team confirms every one. It does not book a clinic appointment itself yet.
Appointment requests
The owner's name and number, the animal's name and species, what they would like the appointment for in their own words, and when they could come. For a clinic, Belline takes appointment requests only, and your team confirms every one. It does not book a clinic appointment itself yet.
Anything urgent, and anything the caller calls an emergency
Belline stops behaving like a booking line and follows the routing you have set: it puts the caller through to the number you gave it, or gives the out-of-hours instruction you wrote, word for word. It takes no appointment, it asks no clinical questions, and it does not decide how serious the call is — a person does that.
Vaccinations, boosters and routine care
What you have written down about what a course involves, what a visit costs and how long it takes. Whether one particular animal is due is a question for your records, which Belline has not read, so it takes the request and your team looks.
Travel certificates and relocating animals
Where somebody is flying, when, and which animal — taken down in full, along with the number to ring back on, and flagged for whoever handles export paperwork. Belline reads back your own notes on what the process involves and puts no date and no requirement of its own on it.
Hours, prices and the practical questions
Consultation fees you have written down, where to park, whether cats have a separate waiting area, what to bring. From your notes exactly, and a message when the answer is not in them.
Repeat medication, food and results
Taken as a message with the animal's name and the owner's number, for a person to pick up. Belline does not read a result out, does not say a prescription is ready, and does not answer a question about a dose.
Inpatients, and the call that asks how she is doing
The owner of an animal that stayed in overnight rings to ask, and there is only one right answer: their number, the animal's name and a message for the clinical team. Belline has not looked at the kennel and does not pretend it has.
Where it stops
The most important thing it does is know what it must not answer.
Belline gives no veterinary information of any kind. It does not say what a symptom might mean, whether an animal should be seen, how soon, or whether something can wait until morning — it does not triage and it does not judge how urgent a call is, because that is a clinical decision and it is not a clinician. Anything urgent, and anything a caller calls an emergency, goes to a person immediately: Belline follows the routing you set, puts the caller through to the number you gave it or reads out the out-of-hours instruction you wrote, and takes no appointment request at all.

An answering service takes a message. Belline answers the question, takes the details and tells your team what to do next.
What counts as a minute
A minute is time Belline spends on a live call with your caller — on your phone line or through the voice button on your website — from the moment it answers to the moment the call ends, rounded up to the next whole minute. Calls you make from your own test console do not count, and neither do calls cut short by a fault on our side.
What counts as a conversation
A conversation is one customer's thread in your website chat or on WhatsApp in which Belline replies at least once. Everything that customer says in the 24 hours after Belline's first reply is the same conversation. Threads your team answers without Belline do not count.
When an allowance runs out
When an allowance runs out, you choose what happens: move up to the next plan, or stop at the allowance. We tell you at 70%, 90% and 100%. Nothing is ever added to your bill without you choosing it.

Customer stories
There is no testimonial here yet.
When a veterinary practice in Abu Dhabi agrees to be named, its story goes in this space: what it was losing, what it changed, and what its own team says about it. Until then this space stays empty on purpose. We are not going to write a quotation nobody said, or count customers we do not have.

Questions
What operators ask us.
Will it answer at half past seven in the morning?
It answers whenever your line is forwarded to it, and in Abu Dhabi that early hour is when a lot gets arranged. Somebody heading to work can give the animal's name, what they are asking for and when they could come, and your team has it before the first consult of the day.
A housemaid is ringing and the owner is abroad. What does it do?
It takes what she can describe, the animal's name, and records that she is not the owner, then asks for the owner's number so your team can reach somebody who can agree to treatment. It does not tell her what to do, because that is a clinical question and she is entitled to a real answer from a person.
Can it say whether it is worth driving in from Saadiyat tonight?
No. That is a judgement about an animal nobody has seen, and Belline does not make it in any form. It gives your hours and your address, takes the number and what the owner said, and follows the out-of-hours routing you set so a person answers that question.
How does it handle a boarding enquiry for the summer?
It takes the dates, the animals, and what you have written about what boarding involves and costs at your practice, then passes it to whoever runs the kennels. It does not say there is space, because space in August is the one thing a phone line must not promise.
Somebody rings at midnight and says it is an emergency. What happens?
It stops being a booking line at that point. Belline follows the routing you set — it puts the caller through to the number you gave it, or reads out the out-of-hours instruction you wrote, word for word — and takes no appointment. It does not ask what happened, work out how bad it is, or slow the call down.
Does it confirm the appointment time?
For a clinic, Belline takes appointment requests only, and your team confirms every one. It does not book a clinic appointment itself yet.
