AI receptionist for hair and beauty salons

Both hands are in someone's hair. The phone rings anyway.

A salon's phone rings while every pair of hands is busy. Belline answers from your price list, takes the booking request for your team to confirm, and does not get talked out of a patch test.

Ringing

By city

Where we have written it up.

Each page is about a salon's phone in that city — the week it keeps, the languages on the line and the calls it loses.

Dubai

Since January 2022 the federal public sector has worked Monday to Friday, with the weekend on Saturday and Sunday and a shortened Friday, and most of Dubai's private sector followed it.

Abu Dhabi

Monday to Friday, weekend on Saturday and Sunday, with a short Friday across the public sector.

Sharjah

Sharjah is the outlier.

Why the calls go missing

Nobody is ignoring the phone.

Hair and beauty salons lose calls for reasons that have nothing to do with caring about them.

Nobody has a free hand

Colour is on, a client is at the basin, the front desk is also the person doing the blow-dry. The phone is not ignored out of rudeness; there is genuinely nobody to answer it.

So much of it is the price list

How much is balayage, how long does it take, do you do keratin. The answer is already written down and it still costs a stylist five minutes and a client their attention.

Rules get argued with

A patch test forty-eight hours before a first colour is a rule, not a preference, and a caller who wants bleach tomorrow will push. A receptionist under pressure bends. Belline does not.

Callers want a named person

People book a stylist, not a salon. A request that does not capture who they want is a request the desk has to ring back about.

Where it stops

Knowing what not to say is the hard part.

Belline will not quote a price you have not given it, promise a colour result, or waive a deposit or a patch test to keep a caller happy. Complaints and anything about a previous service go to a person.

How it works

Set up from what you already have.

Most of the work is checking what Belline found. You decide when customers reach it.

  1. Give Belline what you already have

Your website, price list or brochure. It reads them and drafts your services, prices, hours and the questions a salon gets asked every day.

  2. Check what it found

Fix anything wrong, fill the gaps, and set the rules it must hold. Nothing goes live until you have read it.

  3. Switch it on

Ring it yourself first. Then forward your line and paste one line of HTML into your website. Customers only reach Belline once you do.

Questions

What operators ask us.

Will it quote prices we have not set?

No. It reads your price list and says what is on it. A service that is not on the list is taken as a question for your team, with the caller's number, rather than given a number Belline made up.

Will it hold our patch-test rule?

Yes, and that is most of the point. If your policy is a patch test forty-eight hours before a first colour, Belline says so, takes the request on that basis, and keeps saying so if the caller pushes. It does not have a bad day.

Can a caller ask for a particular stylist?

Yes. Belline takes the stylist's name, the service and the day that suits. With your calendar connected, Belline checks it and books the time straight in, on the phone, in chat, on WhatsApp and on video. Without one, it takes the request and your team confirms it.

Does it actually book the appointment?

With your calendar connected, Belline checks it and books the time straight in, on the phone, in chat, on WhatsApp and on video. Without one, it takes the request and your team confirms it.

What about deposits?

Belline states the deposit rule as you wrote it and takes the request on that basis. It does not take a card number or a payment over the phone, and it will not waive the deposit because somebody asked nicely.

Can it handle a bridal enquiry?

It takes it and hands it over. A wedding party is a conversation with a person about timings, trials and a price, so Belline captures the date, the headcount and the number and flags it for whoever handles them.

Will clients know it is not a person?

If they ask, it says so. Belline does not pretend to be a member of your staff.

Does it work with Fresha or Booksy?

Not yet. Belline answers the caller, takes the service, the stylist and the day, and your team enters it in the system you already use. Booking straight into a salon platform needs a partner agreement with each company.
