Belline in London
AI receptionist for hair and beauty salons in London
A London salon's phone rings hardest when the chairs are fullest: Saturday, the hour before closing, the lunch break people spend ringing round. Belline answers from your own price list and your own rules, takes the booking request for your team to confirm, and does not get argued out of a patch test.

Two calls a salon actually takes.
The first is the request taken for your team to confirm. The second is the call Belline refuses or hands over - which is the one you are really deciding about.
London, specifically
What a salon in London is actually answering.
London businesses do not lose calls because nobody rings; they lose them because the ones that do ring are the hard ones.
Saturday is the day nobody can reach the phone
For most London salons Saturday is the busiest trading day of the week, which makes it the day the handset is least likely to be picked up: every stylist is mid-service, the junior is on the floor, and the person who would answer is wearing gloves. The calls that go unanswered are the ones asking for next Saturday, and a caller who gets no answer on Saturday morning books the salon that did pick up.
People ring in their lunch hour and on the commute
A great many London clients can only ring a salon when they are not at a desk: a lunch break, the walk to the station, the journey home. Those windows do not line up with when the floor is quiet enough to answer, so the booking calls arrive in clusters at exactly the wrong moments. Belline takes each one as a request with the service, the stylist if they have a favourite, and the days that suit them.
Price questions are specific, and the list already answers them
Callers rarely ask what a colour costs. They ask what a half-head of highlights costs with a cut, whether a toner is extra, how much longer hair adds. Your price list has all of that, and a stylist with foils in their hands cannot recite it. Belline reads the list back as you wrote it and refuses to put a number on anything that is not on it, which is better than a guess that becomes a disagreement at the till.
Your rules need to be said the same way every time
A patch test at least forty-eight hours before a first colour, a deposit for a long appointment, a cancellation window: a caller under time pressure will test every one of them, and a receptionist who is also the person on the floor will say yes to get off the phone. Belline states the rule as you wrote it, takes the request on that basis, and says it again the second time it is asked.
Languages on the line
English, in a city where a great many callers speak it as a second language and hundreds of others are spoken at home. Belline answers in English.
In an emergency
Belline gives the instruction you set for England: 999 or 112, or NHS 111 for urgent advice that is not an emergency. It takes no appointment request at that moment, because an appointment would be the wrong answer.
Your own number
Keep the London number on your door and your listings. You forward the calls nobody answers; nothing about how customers reach you changes.
What comes down the line
Every call a salon gets, and what happens to it.
With your calendar connected, Belline checks it and books the time straight in, on the phone, in chat, on WhatsApp and on video. Without one, it takes the request and your team confirms it.
Booking requests, with the stylist named
The service, the stylist they want, the day that suits and how long it runs. Belline takes all four and your team confirms the time in the book you already keep.
Prices and treatment lengths
Straight from your price list, word for word. A service that is not on the list is a question for your team, not something Belline puts a number on.
Patch tests, deposits and your own rules
If your policy needs a patch test before a first colour, or a deposit before a long appointment, Belline says so, takes the request on that basis, and holds the line politely when pushed.
Changes and no-shows
A client moving or cancelling is taken as a message with the time they were down for, so the chair can be refilled rather than left empty.
Bridal, groups and anything long
A wedding party or a full day of work is a conversation with a person. Belline takes the date, the headcount and the number, and flags it.
Complaints about a previous visit
Colour that did not turn out, a cut somebody is unhappy with - taken as a message for a person, with what the client said in their own words, and never argued with.
Where it stops
The most important thing it does is know what it must not answer.
Belline will not quote a price you have not given it, promise a colour result, or waive a deposit or a patch test to keep a caller happy. Complaints and anything about a previous service go to a person.

WhatsApp for your business

Booking online is the default and the phone is what people fall back to when the online form cannot answer them - which means the calls that do come through are the awkward ones: the exceptions, the questions, the things that need a person.

How it works
Set up from what you already have.
Most of the work is checking what Belline found. You decide when customers reach it.
-
Give Belline what you already have
Your website, price list or brochure. It reads them and drafts your services, prices, hours and the questions a salon gets asked every day.
-
Check what it found
Fix anything wrong, fill the gaps, and set the rules it must hold. Nothing goes live until you have read it.
-
Switch it on
Ring it yourself first. Then forward your line and paste one line of HTML into your website. Customers only reach Belline once you do.

An answering service takes a message. Belline answers the question, takes the details and tells your team what to do next.
What counts as a minute
A minute is time Belline spends on a live call with your caller - on your phone line or through the voice button on your website - from the moment it answers to the moment the call ends, rounded up to the next whole minute. Calls you make from your own test console do not count, and neither do calls cut short by a fault on our side.
What counts as a conversation
A conversation is one customer's thread in your website chat or on WhatsApp in which Belline replies at least once. Everything that customer says in the 24 hours after Belline's first reply is the same conversation. Threads your team answers without Belline do not count.
When an allowance runs out
When an allowance runs out, you choose what happens: move up to the next plan, or stop at the allowance. We tell you at 70%, 90% and 100%. Nothing is ever added to your bill without you choosing it.

Customer stories
There is no testimonial here yet.
When a salon in London agrees to be named, its story goes in this space: what it was losing, what it changed, and what its own team says about it. Until then this space stays empty on purpose. We are not going to write a quotation nobody said, or count customers we do not have.

Questions
What operators ask us.
Can it tell a caller they need a patch test before colour?
Yes, if you have written that rule down, in your words. Belline repeats it exactly and takes the request on that basis. It does not decide whether someone is safe to colour - that stays with your stylist, and anything it is unsure about goes to your team as a message.
What happens to the booking requests it takes?
Each arrives as a request with the service, the day and the caller's details, for your team to confirm. Belline does not promise a slot you have not agreed to, so nothing is double-booked by a machine that could not see the book.
Will it quote prices we have not published?
No. It reads back the list you gave it. When a caller asks about something that is not on it - a bridal trial, a corrective colour - it takes their details and the question as a message so a stylist can quote properly.
Does it actually book the appointment?
With your calendar connected, Belline checks it and books the time straight in, on the phone, in chat, on WhatsApp and on video. Without one, it takes the request and your team confirms it.
Does it work with Fresha or Booksy?
Not yet. Belline answers the caller, takes the service, the stylist and the day, and your team enters it in the system you already use. Booking straight into a salon platform needs a partner agreement with each company.
Will it hold our patch-test rule?
Yes, and that is most of the point. If your policy is a patch test forty-eight hours before a first colour, Belline says so, takes the request on that basis, and keeps saying so if the caller pushes. It does not have a bad day.
