Belline Start free trial

AI receptionist for tutors and tuition centres

The tutors are teaching. The parents ring anyway.

Every hour your tutors are working is an hour nobody can answer a parent. Belline takes the year group, the curriculum and the subject, reads back your fees and timetable, and leaves everything about a child to your team.

Answers in English.

Ringing

By city

Where we have written it up.

Each page is about a tuition centre's phone in that city — the week it keeps, the languages on the line and the calls it loses.

Dubai

Since January 2022 the federal public sector has worked Monday to Friday, with the weekend on Saturday and Sunday and a shortened Friday, and most of Dubai's private sector followed it.

Abu Dhabi

Monday to Friday, weekend on Saturday and Sunday, with a short Friday across the public sector.

Sharjah

Sharjah is the outlier.

Why the calls go missing

Nobody is ignoring the phone.

Tutors and tuition centres lose calls for reasons that have nothing to do with caring about them.

Your staff are teaching when the phone rings

A tutor mid-session cannot take a call, and a centre with three rooms running has nobody spare between four and eight in the evening. Those are also the only hours a working parent has to ring.

The caller is the parent, not the student

The person on the line is deciding on somebody else's behalf, usually about a child they are worried about. They want to be asked the right questions and they notice when they are not.

Nothing can be answered until you know the curriculum

British, American, IB, CBSE: the same school year means a different syllabus, a different exam board and a different tutor. A message that does not capture which one is a message somebody has to ring back about before it is worth anything.

The year has spikes and they are all at once

The start of term, the run-up to exams, the week reports come home. Demand arrives in bursts, and the bursts are exactly when a centre's staff are least able to stop and take down a name.

Where it stops

Knowing what not to say is the hard part.

Belline will not discuss a named student, report on progress, predict a grade, advise on which set or exam board a child should be in, or take payment over the phone. It does not ask a caller for a child's school, birth date or medical information. It takes the enquiry and your team rings the parent back.

A tutoring centre: tutors working one to one with students at white tables, workbooks on the shelves behind.

How it works

Set up from what you already have.

Most of the work is checking what Belline found. You decide when customers reach it.

  1. Give Belline what you already have

Your website, price list or brochure. It reads them and drafts your services, prices, hours and the questions a tuition centre gets asked every day.

  2. Check what it found

Fix anything wrong, fill the gaps, and set the rules it must hold. Nothing goes live until you have read it.

  3. Switch it on

Ring it yourself first. Then forward your line and paste one line of HTML into your website. Customers only reach Belline once you do.

Questions

What operators ask us.

Will it discuss how a child is doing?

No. It cannot see a report and it has no business giving one, and it also cannot know that the person ringing is who they say they are. It takes the question with a number and your tutor rings the parent back.

Will it promise a grade or a result?

Never, in any form. No improvement, no target, no pass. It describes what you offer in the words you wrote and leaves what a particular child might achieve to the person who will be teaching them.

Does it know which curriculum we teach?

It knows what you tell it. Write down the boards and the year groups you cover and Belline reads them back, and asks every caller which one they are ringing about — which is the question that makes the callback useful.

What details does it take about the student?

As little as it needs: a first name, a year group, a subject and a parent's number. It does not ask for a school, a date of birth, a medical note or anything else about a child, because a reception line is not the place for it.

Can it book the trial session?

With your calendar connected, Belline checks it and books the time straight in, on the phone, in chat, on WhatsApp and on video. Without one, it takes the request and your team confirms it. Which tutor takes the session is for your team to decide.

Can it quote our fees?

The ones you have written down, word for word — an hour one-to-one, a group session, a block of ten. Anything that depends on the assessment is taken as a question for your team rather than answered with a figure.

Does it take payment or a deposit?

No. Belline does not take card details or payments on any call. It states your deposit or registration rule as you wrote it and takes the request on that basis.

Will parents know they are speaking to an AI?

If they ask, it says so plainly. It does not use a tutor's name or present itself as a member of your teaching staff.
