AI receptionist for car garages and workshops
Everybody who could answer the phone is under a car.
A workshop's phone rings all day and the people who can answer it are on the ramps. Belline takes the service request, reads back what you have written down, and never puts a price on a repair nobody has looked at.
Answers in English.
By city
Where we have written it up.
Each page is about a garage's phone in that city — the week it keeps, the languages on the line and the calls it loses.
Dubai
Since January 2022 the federal public sector has worked Monday to Friday, with the weekend on Saturday and Sunday and a shortened Friday, and most of Dubai's private sector followed it.
Abu Dhabi
Monday to Friday, weekend on Saturday and Sunday, with a short Friday across the public sector.
Sharjah
Sharjah is the outlier.
Why the calls go missing
Nobody is ignoring the phone.
Car garages and workshops lose calls for reasons that have nothing to do with caring about them.
The people who can answer are the people doing the work
A small workshop has no front desk. The person who knows whether Thursday is free is the one with the bonnet up and both hands dirty, and stopping to reach the handset costs a job on the ramp to answer a question about a job that does not exist yet.
A price over the phone is a guess until the car is in
How much to fix a rattle, how much for a service on a car you have never seen. A number said out loud becomes the number the customer heard, and the argument at collection starts there rather than at the invoice.
Summer arrives as a queue on the line
Batteries and air-conditioning fail in the same weeks, and they fail to people sitting in a hot car at the roadside who ring three garages in a row. The workshop that answers is the workshop that gets the car, and in July the workshop is already full.
Registration deadlines do not wait for a callback
A car whose registration is about to expire has to pass its test first, and the owner who has left it late is ringing this week, not next. That call is short, it is urgent to the caller, and it is lost more easily than any other because it is asked as a yes or no.
Where it stops
Knowing what not to say is the hard part.
Belline will not quote for a repair nobody has inspected, diagnose a noise, promise a car will be ready by a time, say a part is in stock, or tell an owner their vehicle is safe to drive. It reads back your fixed prices, takes the job request, and a person who has seen the car does the rest.
How it works
Set up from what you already have.
Most of the work is checking what Belline found. You decide when customers reach it.
-
Give Belline what you already have
Your website, price list or brochure. It reads them and drafts your services, prices, hours and the questions a garage gets asked every day.
-
Check what it found
Fix anything wrong, fill the gaps, and set the rules it must hold. Nothing goes live until you have read it.
-
Switch it on
Ring it yourself first. Then forward your line and paste one line of HTML into your website. Customers only reach Belline once you do.
Questions
What operators ask us.
Will it quote for a repair over the phone?
Only the prices you have written down and fixed — a service, an alignment, a diagnostic fee. A repair depends on what the car turns out to need, so Belline takes the symptom in the caller's own words with their number and leaves the figure to somebody who has looked at it.
Can it tell a customer what is wrong with their car?
No. A noise described down a telephone is not a diagnosis, and a guess repeated back to a customer becomes the thing they were promised. Belline writes down what they said and passes it to your team.
What happens when somebody has broken down?
It stops treating the call as a booking. Belline takes where the car is, the number to ring back and what happened, and marks it urgent. Where your plan includes live transfer and you have given it a team number, it puts the caller through to a person instead.
Does it know whether we have a ramp free on Thursday?
With your calendar connected, Belline checks it and books the time straight in, on the phone, in chat, on WhatsApp and on video. Without one, it takes the request and your team confirms it.
Can it say whether a part is in stock?
Not unless you have written it down as a standing fact, and stock is not a standing fact. A parts question is taken as a message with the vehicle and the registration so your parts man answers it once, correctly.
What about fleet and company accounts?
A caller who says they are ringing for a company is captured as that: the company, the contact, how many vehicles and what they need. It is flagged separately so it reaches whoever prices account work rather than sitting behind six retail enquiries.
Will it tell somebody their car is safe to drive?
Never. That is a judgement about a vehicle nobody at your workshop has seen, and the consequences of getting it wrong are not a lost booking. Belline says it cannot advise and takes the details for a person.
Can we keep the number on our signboard?
Yes. You forward the number you already have, so nothing changes on your sign, your Google listing or the sticker in the customer's windscreen. Forwarding is usually set so Belline answers only when nobody picks up or the line is busy.
